Reading cards: The bars represent relative contamination concern based on peer-reviewed studies and regulatory data, not direct measurements. Lighter bar is organic, darker is conventional. The gap shows how much buying organic reduces exposure.
Filtering: Use Filter & Sort to narrow by category or grade. Search finds items by name in real time.
Compare: Tap Compare then select two cards to see them side by side. Tap the button again to exit.

Contaminant levels for common foods: organic vs conventional, sourced and explained.
Each card shows the contamination concern level for a food across several categories. The bars are not direct measurements; they represent relative concern based on peer-reviewed studies and regulatory monitoring data. A longer bar means higher documented concern for that contaminant in that food.
Two bars appear for each contaminant: the lighter bar shows the organic baseline, the darker bar shows conventional. The gap between them shows how much buying organic reduces exposure for that specific food.
The letter grade reflects the overall conventional contamination burden across all contaminants combined. Click any row to expand the explanation and source link.
Use the sidebar to narrow by food category or grade. Selecting no categories shows everything.
Search finds items by name in real time. Changing any filter jumps back to the top.
Click Compare to enter compare mode. Cards glow when hovered. Select any two to see them side by side with a summary of key differences.

Click Print to print the current view. Filter to a category first for a focused reference sheet, e.g. filter to Seafood before printing for a mercury guide to take shopping. The print layout uses two columns with full explanatory text.
